Meal prep in Tampa
Built for a bay that trains outdoors and spreads a long way east.
Tampa trains outdoors all year. Bayshore Boulevard is full of runners before work, the gyms in South Tampa and Seminole Heights fill at six, and MacDill Air Force Base puts thousands of people on a fitness standard a few miles from downtown. They buy the same thing: macro-counted meals ordered a week at a time, eaten at a desk or between shifts. Mealforma is meal prep software that gives a Tampa company one place to sell those plans, take the orders and see what the week actually looks like.
Heat is a delivery constraint here, not a footnote. From May into October a Tampa driver carries chilled food through afternoons in the nineties with the humidity on top, so windows have to be kept and routes have to be short. Mealforma builds each day's route from the orders that are actually locked, hands the driver the stops in order with the customer's notes, and takes a photo at the door. An afternoon thunderstorm moves one stop rather than the whole day.
The bay sits in the middle of the market. A Tampa kitchen that takes an order from St. Petersburg or Clearwater is sending a driver over the Howard Frankland or the Gandy, and I-275 at five o'clock can add half an hour to a single stop. Most operators run Hillsborough on one day and Pinellas on another rather than crossing twice. Delivery zones, delivery days, windows and fees are settings you change yourself, so that split is two rows in admin, not a rewrite.
The metro keeps pushing east and north. A kitchen near Ybor City picks up customers in Brandon, Riverview, Lutz and Wesley Chapel inside a year, while downtown and the Channel District add towers with a front desk and a gate code. The note a customer writes once — gate code, building, leave it at the desk — travels with every order to the driver's phone instead of sitting in your inbox. Customers choose this week's meals, skip a week or pause for a trip from their own account.

How to start a meal prep business in FloridaWhy Tampa operators move
Three things we decided, so you do not have to negotiate them.
Built-in AI. Set up in minutes, easy every day.
Your shop is ready the moment you sign up, and your team can run it without training. Then switch on AI wherever it helps: a chat on your website that answers customers from your own menu, an assistant in your admin that finds orders and drafts replies, and recipe import that turns a pasted recipe into macros and labels.
See what the AI doesNo percentage of your sales. Ever.
A flat monthly price, and that is the whole bill for the platform. We do not take a cut of your orders, your subscriptions or your growth, and we are not going to add it later.

The menu a customer orders from is the same data the kitchen produces against, the labels print from, and the route is built from. Nothing is re-keyed between tools.
Everything it does
Scope
Meal prep software from the shopping cart to the front door.
Six surfaces that share one catalogue, one set of recipe versions and one order record. Nothing is re-keyed between them.
Storefront and customer portal
A shop your customers order from, and a portal they manage their plan in — both driven by your catalogue rather than a separate website you keep in sync by hand.
Subscriptions and checkout
The part most meal-prep businesses actually run on, modelled properly instead of as a recurring charge with a menu attached.
Kitchen production
What to cook, how much, and from which recipe version — computed from the orders that are actually locked, not from a guess.
Labels and compliance
Labels print from the same recipe and nutrition versions the kitchen produced against, at exact physical size.
Delivery, routing and the driver app
Dispatch that assumes the phone loses signal, because in a delivery van it does.
Admin, staff and the assistant
The back office, with the permissions and the audit trail a business with staff actually needs.

Questions Tampa operators ask
Our summers are brutal. What does the software actually do about the heat?
It does not refrigerate anything — that is your packing and your bags. What it does is make the driving day shorter and the window real: the route is built from the orders that are locked, the stops come in order on the driver's phone, and each drop is time-stamped with a photo. If you move deliveries to early morning in July, that is a change to the delivery window on the zone, not a change to how you work.
We deliver both sides of the bay. Can Hillsborough and Pinellas run on different days?
Yes. Each zone you draw has its own delivery days, delivery windows, minimum order and fee, and a customer's address decides which zone they are in at checkout. A Tuesday for Hillsborough and a Thursday across the bridges is two zones on the same catalogue, each building its own route with its own driver and its own stop order.
A lot of our customers are in downtown and Channel District towers. Where does the gate code live?
On the address, so it travels with every order. The customer writes it once in their account — gate code, building, unit, leave it with the front desk — and it shows on the stop in the driver app. The driver app also holds the day's route on the phone, so a parking garage with no signal does not lose the list.
Half our customers leave for the summer. Can they pause instead of cancelling?
Yes, and they can do it themselves. From their account a customer can skip a single week or pause the subscription and pick it up later, without emailing you. That matters in Florida, where a snowbird who cannot find a pause button cancels instead, and you have to win them back in November.
What about licensing and the health inspector?
Mealforma does not file anything for you — depending on the kind of establishment you run, your kitchen is licensed by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services or by the Department of Business and Professional Regulation, and that stays between you and them. What the software gives you is the record they ask about: which recipe version each batch was cooked from, what went on the label, and when it was produced and delivered.
