Meal prep in Raleigh
Built for a Triangle that keeps adding streets to your route.
Raleigh's customers come from three places at once. NC State fills Hillsborough Street with students and staff who eat on a schedule, Research Triangle Park and the offices along I-40 send engineers and sales people who work through lunch, and WakeMed, Duke Raleigh and UNC Rex run shifts that do not line up with a kitchen. Mealforma is meal prep software that gives a Raleigh company one place to sell weekly plans to all three, take the orders and see the week's numbers.
The map keeps moving. A shop that starts inside the Beltline has customers in Cary and Apex within a year, then Holly Springs, Wake Forest and Knightdale, and the drive between them is not short — I-440 and Capital Boulevard both back up at the end of the day, and US 1 north is its own kind of slow. Mealforma builds each day's route from the orders that are actually in, gives the driver the stops in order with the customer's notes, and takes a photo on delivery.
Adding a town should not be a project. Delivery zones, fees, cut-off times and delivery windows are settings you change yourself, so a Raleigh company that has been running a Sunday route inside the Beltline can open a Wednesday route for Cary and Morrisville without a migration or a call to support. Most shops here grow that way — one zone at a time, in the direction the orders came from.
Raleigh customers behave like subscribers. They sign up for a weekly plan, pick their meals before the cut-off, and expect to skip a week from their phone when they are away. The university calendar shows up in the numbers too: a student plan empties in May and refills in August. Skips, pauses and plan changes happen in the customer's own account, so a quiet August does not arrive as fifty emails on a Friday afternoon.

How to start a meal prep business in North CarolinaWhy Raleigh operators move
Three things we decided, so you do not have to negotiate them.
Built-in AI. Set up in minutes, easy every day.
Your shop is ready the moment you sign up, and your team can run it without training. Then switch on AI wherever it helps: a chat on your website that answers customers from your own menu, an assistant in your admin that finds orders and drafts replies, and recipe import that turns a pasted recipe into macros and labels.
See what the AI doesNo percentage of your sales. Ever.
A flat monthly price, and that is the whole bill for the platform. We do not take a cut of your orders, your subscriptions or your growth, and we are not going to add it later.

The menu a customer orders from is the same data the kitchen produces against, the labels print from, and the route is built from. Nothing is re-keyed between tools.
Everything it does
Scope
Meal prep software from the shopping cart to the front door.
Six surfaces that share one catalogue, one set of recipe versions and one order record. Nothing is re-keyed between them.
Storefront and customer portal
A shop your customers order from, and a portal they manage their plan in — both driven by your catalogue rather than a separate website you keep in sync by hand.
Subscriptions and checkout
The part most meal-prep businesses actually run on, modelled properly instead of as a recurring charge with a menu attached.
Kitchen production
What to cook, how much, and from which recipe version — computed from the orders that are actually locked, not from a guess.
Labels and compliance
Labels print from the same recipe and nutrition versions the kitchen produced against, at exact physical size.
Delivery, routing and the driver app
Dispatch that assumes the phone loses signal, because in a delivery van it does.
Admin, staff and the assistant
The back office, with the permissions and the audit trail a business with staff actually needs.

Questions Raleigh operators ask
We started inside the Beltline and our customers keep moving to Cary and Apex. How do we add them?
You add a zone. Each zone has its own delivery days, delivery windows, minimum order and fee, and a customer's address decides which one they are in at checkout. Adding Cary as a Wednesday route is a settings change you make yourself, not a new system — and the day's route is built only from the orders in the zones you are running that day.
A lot of our customers are NC State students who leave for the summer. Can plans pause?
Yes. A customer can pause their plan or skip individual weeks from their own account, and pick it up again when they are back. The subscription keeps its history, so a plan that paused in May and restarted in August is the same customer record rather than a new sign-up, and the paused weeks are not billed.
Can customers choose their own meals each week, or is it a fixed box?
Either. You can sell a fixed weekly box, or let customers choose their meals from that week's menu before your cut-off. Anyone who does not choose in time can have meals picked for them automatically. What the kitchen has to cook is computed from the orders that are actually locked, not from an estimate.
We sell macro plans to gyms and trainers. Does it handle that?
Macros are computed from your recipes and the amounts you actually use, per portion size, and printed on the label. Customers can choose meals against their own calorie and protein targets, and you can type your own figures for anything bought in rather than cooked. No part of the nutrition is guessed by a language model.
What about the health department paperwork?
Mealforma does not file anything for you — a kitchen in Raleigh is permitted and inspected by Wake County's environmental health program, and that stays between you and them. What the software gives you is the record they ask about: which recipe version each batch was cooked from, what went on the label, and when it was produced and delivered.
